Mutoral II

Mutoral® II is the Mutian protocol supply for the maintenance phase of the oral feline chronic gingivostomatitis (FCGS) protocol. FCGS is a severe and painful oral inflammatory condition: affected cats develop mouth ulcers, reddened and swollen gums, periodontal overgrowth, pain, and heavy salivation, with appetite and activity falling away as eating becomes difficult. Mutoral® II carries the protocol forward once the initial inflammation has begun to respond.

The two-phase oral protocol starts on Mutoral® I (50 mg); in the source research, cats showing some improvement within the first 1–2 weeks may be switched to Mutoral® II (100 mg), taken once daily as the maintenance phase for the remainder of the course. A full course usually requires about 12 weeks of continuous administration, with the overall duration guided by the severity and site of the condition and the cat's clinical and laboratory results; if no improvement is seen within 2 weeks, the attending veterinarian should re-assess the diagnosis and adjust the approach. In the source research, administration was not affected by food.

Mutoral® II is supplied as 100 mg tablets, 14 tablets per box, for use in cats only. Commonly used dosage in the observational FCGS protocol: a quarter tablet per 1 kg of body weight, once daily. The exact daily amount is weight-based and should be set and adjusted by the attending veterinarian.

Mutoral® II should not be used in cats with an allergy to any of its ingredients. It is not recommended for cats with septic infection or sepsis, or with skin and soft-tissue damage such as abscesses, cellulitis, or dermatitis. Steroids, cyclosporine A, and other immunosuppressants are not recommended during administration. Consult your veterinarian for help in the diagnosis, treatment, and control of FCGS.

Technical details: manufactured under GMP-certified conditions by Mutian Life Sciences. In the source protocol the tablets are used alongside the Mutoral oral spray; the spray is not sold on this platform. Mutoral® II is supplied for use within observational FCGS protocols under veterinary guidance; outcomes are tracked as observational response over the course of the protocol rather than as a guaranteed cure.
