Ziggy's Story
It’s now been 69 days since Ziggy was diagnosed with FIP and started his lifesaving Mutian treatment.
Ziggy has continued with regular check-ups and blood tests at the vets. We were a little worried when his SDMA levels increased to the highest level of the ‘normal’ zone. SDMA is an indicator of kidney function and has slowly crept up over the last few weeks. Fortunately, his latest blood test results showed promising signs with his SDMA level slightly dropping.
Other than that, Ziggy has been thriving! His fur has nearly fully grown back, he’s put on 1.3kg () since diagnosis, and is continuing to be the most loving, mischievous boy.
Next week Ziggy will be at the vets for thorough tests to determine whether he can come off treatment and move into observation the following week (after 84 days). The tests will check for fluid levels in his chest, kidney function and overall health. We’re so nervous, but we’re remaining positive.
Wish him luck
