Wangcai Fight FCGS
Name: Wangcai
Age: Approximately 5 years old
Duration of stomatitis: About 2 years
General situation: Tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but negative for leukemia. Wangcai was originally a stray cat in the neighborhood. It was found to have difficulty eating and was very thin. After undergoing full mouth extraction, its condition improved upon discharge, and it was sent to a pet shop for boarding. However, on April 11th, the pet shop notified that Wangcai stopped eating. It was taken to the hospital for examination the same day, and blood tests revealed a respiratory infection. Wangcai stayed in the hospital for 5 days, and its condition improved. It was prescribed homemade medication for 15 days and then returned home for oral administration. After 20 days, it stopped eating again, and was taken back to the hospital for treatment similar to the previous one. As of today (July 24th), Wangcai has been to the hospital four times. From the time of tooth extraction until now, it has received two injections for stomatitis within a span of 4 months. Each injection can maintain for 15 days, and almost unable to eat after 15 days. However, there are now ulcerated areas on the tongue, which were not present before.
On the 19th day of medication, the cat's oral condition has improved significantly, and it is eating voluntarily, consuming both dry food and canned food. However, it still cries out while eating, but its overall mental state is still acceptable.
