Taotao (neutered) Fight FCGS
Basic Information:
Name: Taotao (neutered)
Age: 9 years old
Weight: 4.5 kg
Background: Symptoms of oral inflammation were first noticed in early 2016. In 2019, the use of steroid medications proved to be completely ineffective. In December 2022, tooth extraction surgery was performed, but the oral inflammation immediately recurred after the surgery.
On the first day of medication, the oral inflammation recurred immediately after the tooth extraction, rendering the procedure completely ineffective. The mouth has been continuously painful. The oral condition is characterized by redness and swelling, accompanied by foul-smelling saliva. The area around the mouth is quite dirty and extremely sensitive, making it impossible to touch or clean the area. Eating causes discomfort, leading to frequent head shaking and irritable behavior.
On the third day of medication, Taotao has shown improvement. The medication started on August 12th, and today is the third day. One tablet is taken per day, and the spray is used three to four times a day, with one to two sprays each time. There is a noticeable increase in food intake, reduced saliva production, and a clear improvement in mood.
On the fourth day of medication, it's a particularly feisty cat, completely unwilling to have its nose or mouth wiped. On the fourth day, it managed to clean its face by itself. The fact that its mouth is no longer as painful is probably what made it happy enough to clean its face.
On the sixth day of medication, for the past few days, one tablet has been taken per day, and the spray has been used three times, with just one spray each time. The appetite is good, with a much greater frequency of eating compared to before the medication. Saliva production has decreased, and there is also an improvement in oral condition. The mood is also good.
(Day 8-10 of medication)
One Mutoral tablet is taken orally, and the spray is used once in the morning and once in the evening. There is some resistance to the spray, with the cat running away after each spray. The eating situation is basically normal, with decreasing pain, fewer head shakes, no saliva, a clean mouth, normal urination and defecation, and a good mood. The redness and swelling have reduced significantly. The cat is eating even more than a normal cat, and it seems to have gained a bit of weight since starting the medication.
(Days 11-16 of medication)
One Mutoral tablet is taken orally, and the spray is used once in the morning and once in the evening. There is strong resistance, but it's possible to administer the spray each time. The eating situation is very stable, with a good appetite. In addition to eating a lot of cat food, the cat also eats a bit of treats and canned food. There is no pain, vocalization, or head shaking while eating. The area around the mouth is very clean, and the oral cavity is slightly more moist than a healthy cat's, but not foul-smelling. Urination and defecation are normal, and the mood is very good. The redness and swelling are similar to the feedback from last week, much better than before the medication, but not much different from the previous few days. There was very noticeable progress at the beginning of the medication, and the situation has been relatively stable for more than half a month.
