Ok, y’all, Miss Molly started on her first dose of Mutoral I this morning. Just now my husband said “Molly is eating dry food???” (Personally I’d prefer they all eat wet food but we have dry food out for snacking between their wet food meals)

But the point is… Molly hasn’t eaten dry food in months! I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but she has been very lovey today and I truly can’t believe she is eating dry food.

Attached are the best “before” snaps of her mouth that I could grab out of a video I took this morning. We’ll keep taking them to see if/when we see visible progress. She already had FME last year, so no teeth.

Please keep us in your thoughts, and you and your kitties are in ours.

Hello again, y'all! I am finally letting my guard down and feeling cautiously optimistic!

Here are pics comparing Molly's mouth after the first 8 days on Mutoral I. And she has gone from 6 1/2 to 8 pounds!!! She is still underweight, but we'll have to start watching it as time goes on! Quite a switch from high calorie food and supplements 4-6 times a day this past year only to watch her wither down to skin and bones.

Molly used to smack her lips all the time, drooled badly, her forearms and mouth were stained with blood/drool/food, and her coat was greasy and tufted. All of this is mostly GONE. [Except the cat acne -- now that she isn't constantly drooling or in oral pain we are able to start treating it better.]

I can't promise anything, but if you are here because you are considering the treatment but aren't sure -- please, please just try it if you can**. I was truly at the point of considering euthanasia because we had tried everything over 8-9 years yet her QOL was still suffering But look at where we are in only 8 days!

As always, our best to you and your kitties! **I have no vested interest in Mutian, I am just a customer like many of you.

Our Molly is now on Day 25. She no longer drips blood-tinged drool, she doesn’t have dried blood stains on her “forearms”, she doesn’t smack her lips together all the time, she grooms CONSTANTLY and has gotten rid of her tufted fur, and most importantly she has gone from 6 1/2 pounds the day before before treatment, to 8 pounds on Day 8, to 9lbs 1oz on Day 25! Pre-stomatitis she was a slightly voluptuous 11 pound girl. We still have about 8 weeks to go, but all signs are very promising now. Just a month ago we had started to consider euthanasia due to her quality of life when a last-ditch google search brought me to this group!

I’m posting this for two reasons:

1) If you are new and you’ve done everything the vet suggested, yet your cat isn’t eating due to pain and they are literally starving to death… please give Mutoral a try. You will hopefully see a difference as quickly as we did.

2) Due to Molly’s significant weight gain, we had to recalculate and increase her dose (and we might have to do so again before treatment is over). So make sure to weigh regularly. Nancy can help you and/or use the online calculator to see if your dose changes and order more boxes accordingly if you’ll need it.

Best of luck to everyone! Ask questions and I’m sure that one of us will be able to answer based on our own experience administering Mutoral to our own cats.
